eneXs Suite – Identity check & Document control

Our eneXs Suite is a hardware independent and fully integrated platform for the verification of passports, identity cards, visas and residence permits.

Overview

eneXs stands for "entry & exit system". Our eneXs product family has a modular structure. The server can be integrated "standalone" as a query system in other words and out-of-box contains a large number of interfaces to the most important Swiss national and international databases. Both the stationary and mobile versions can be used as clients. The range of functions of the stationary version is geared to the first and second line of control. The mobile version is tailored to the needs of those on the move; for example, checking of vehicle license plates.

The Key-Features

  • Verification and identification of persons
  • Reading and checking identification documents
  • Recognition and checking of vehicle license plates
  • Identifying treatments
  • Capture and comparison of biometric features
  • Applicable to mobile and stationary needs and can be integrated into an overall solution

The Functionality

The eneXs Suite provides the security that the identity and legitimization of a person are consistent. This security is guaranteed by means of various processes.

The query on various information systems, both behind the FDJP SSO portal and on cantonal and international systems, includes both stationary (2-way SSL, LocalProxy) and server-based (SAML) queries, e.g. for mobile queries via iPhone.
Query parameters:

  • Reading of identity documents
  • Photographing vehicle license plates
  • Capturing fingerprints
  • Manual input

The capture of biometric features, in particular the fingerprints for the query on the AFIS, is supported in both mobile and stationary devices depending on the available hardware. The connection of the FAS scanners from the HPI project AFIS@mobile is available. The biometric features can also be checked against the biometric data from the eDocuments or from the protected areas of the chip. This comparison is supported by integrated fingerprint and facial image comparisons.

We support the reading and checking of ID documents both in mobile and stationary devices. The visual data from the MRZ and the data from the chip are read and used in eDocuments. The details of the document and the person are automatically checked with the integrated one-time query. The document is also checked for optical and electronic security features and for forgeries.
